A few updates from across the pond:
My best friend and freshman year roommate Stacy arrives tomorrow morning to Londontown!! She will be spending her spring break with me and I can’t wait to spend time with her and show her all of my favorite spots in the city.
Mom and Mc are also arriving on Wednesday! So excited to be visited by three of my favorite people! Looking forward to good company, good food, and good wine and some adventures in the city!
Speaking of adventures, a few of my flat-mates and I are planning a trip to Edinburgh for a weekend soon. Also interested in going to visit Paris in May. I can’t think of anything lovelier than Paris in the springtime as a nice last excursion before heading home!

Finally back to London from a successful trip to the All-Irelands where I got 11th place! The competition was really intense but I had a great day of dancing, and ended up medaling 5th in the first round, 14th in the second round, and 11th overall. Caitlin and I then headed from Killarney to Ballybunion, Ireland for a week-long training camp with the show Dance of Desire. We learned nearly every number in the show, and are currently waiting to hear from the producers about open spots in their tours in Europe over the summer and next year. After a very exciting but exhausting week, it’s nice to be back in London- but training continues for the worlds in April!

This is a bit of a late update, but the last week has been busy with preparing for All-Irelands. My friend Caitlin, who I worked with at dance camp over the summer, came from Manchester to London to visit last Wednesday, and we did a lot of site-seeing, and even stopped by Abbey Road Studios before visiting some vintage antique shops on Church Street. Leaving on Thursday for Killarney and will be sure to post updates- if it goes well of course :)

Just arrived back from my first art history class which met at the British Museum. Four hours of viewing different exhibits from ancient Greece and Rome was actually really interesting and more enjoyable than I imagined. It’s not even 2:00 and I already feel substantially more cultured. Still, the three most important lessons I walked away with are the following:
- I simply cannot function function in the morning without coffee and should stop testing myself to see if this changes.
- I want to see the Disney movie “Hercules” again. Soon.
- I absolutely cannot sketch. Exhibited by my pathetic attempt at The Parthenon,- but really that is such an unrealistic task to begin with though! Come on!
Off to dance class in Essex for the evening. With no classes tomorrow, I plan on starting out my weekend by a full day of exploring the shops of Oxford Streetl! Just another cultural experience!!

Saw this poem on a sign on the tube today and thought of everyone I’m missing at home…Don’t worry though, I’m definitely not disconsolate :)
“Loving the rituals that keep men close,
Nature created means for friends apart:
pan, paper, ink, the alphabet,
signs for the distant and disconsolate heart.”

Starbucks feels like my home away from home here- The coffee is even better in Europe, which almost makes up for the bland food.

Friends from dance camp, Dan and Andy (aka “Dandy”) came to visit for the night from Bristol! So good to see them and we had so much fun going out together.

So glad to have the mandatory tourist picture….even though a few businessmen passing by literally laughed at us in the process!
